Hi everybody, well I haven't posted here for quite some time. But anyways, I shot a short on 16mm black and white and sent it off to get telecined to Pro8. They sent it back to me with a flare in the transfer. I told them about it and they told me to send it back to them, I did. But when I got it back the footage given back to me was extrememly grainy. Now I'm going to try to ship it back to them to do it one more time. It's getting annoying so to avoid further problems with Pro8 is there any other place that does decent telecine transfers for reversal 16mm film. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Another typically unsatisfied Pro8mm customer!
I can't vouch for them personally, but I hear Yale in North Hollywood is good, and I know for a fact, they pick up lots of business from Super 8 Sound (Pro8mm).
Also FotoKem in Burbank.

Hi, I just got some 16mm transferred from Yale last week and was very happy with the results. Its $175.00 per hour for color correction Rank transfer, I don't know are there better prices?

The transfer station web site is quoting $135 per hour plus tape cost.
I must mention that pro8mm did a 16mm transfer for me on very short notice when others couldn't fit me in and it turned out very nice.
